I rip from cache very often and have had no issues with it. I will point out that I manually repair avatars instead of hotswapping, which could decrease ban chances. You should be fine if the avatar isn't before 2019 unity

Also do they have a dc server?

hit me up in DM's if you have the VRCA for the avatar in question and ill see what i can do. said vrca has to be the pre-encryption files not the ones after the update that broke most casual attempts at grabbing it.
